Claudia Barrett
Claudia Barrett, one of Republic's latter-day leading ladies and a strong force on dozens of TV westerns, was born Imagene Williams in West L.A. and grew up in Sherman Oaks, California. Studying at the Pasadena Playhouse, a Warner Bros. talent scout spotted her, changed her name to Claudia Barrett (now legally her name) and signed her to a contract. During that year she appeared in "White Heat" ('49) , "Chain Lightning" ('50) and others. Freelancing, she found work at Republic in "Rustlers on Horseback" ('50), "Nightriders of Montana" ('51), "Desperadoes Outpost" ('52) all with Allan "Rocky" Lane, "Old Frontier" ('50) with Monte Hale and a "Stories of the Century" episode with Jim Davis. Following her Republic days, Claudia became quite active in TV westerns such as "Cisco Kid", "Hopalong Cassidy", "Lone Ranger", "Wild Bill Hickok", "Roy Rogers", "Buffalo Bill Jr.", "Death Valley Days", "Tales of Wells Fargo", "Trackdown", "Shotgun Slade" and others. Leaving films in the early '60s, Claudia worked 14 years for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Art occupies her time these days. Her work has been exhibited and much of it has been reproduced on note cards.
