Panel Discussions

The festival's first panel on Thursday morning was made up of (clockwise) Noel Neill, James Hampton, Jon Provost, Dorinda Clifton and Ray Nielsen (moderator).

Following a special panel on Gene Autry, moderator Boyd Magers posed with (left to right) Ted Infuhr, Don Kay Reynolds, and Robert Easton.

The Thursday afternoon Gene Autry panel also gave attendees the very special bonus of being able to view special costume artifacts from Boyd Magers' personal collection.  Included in this display were a costume that Gene Autry wore during public appearances and a pair of spurs worn by Hopalong Cassidy.

The Friday morning panel was especially lively thanks to the animated personality of Frank "Lumpy" Bank (second from right).  Also contributing to that panel discussion were (left to right) Ted Infuhr, Karolyn Grimes, Ray Nielsen (moderator) and Maggie Peterson.

Friday afternoon's interesting panel included insightful discussions with (left to right) Gregg Palmer, Shirley Eaton, Ray Nielsen (moderator), Jerry "The King" Lawler and Elizabeth MacRae.

The final panel discussion of the festival was lead by Boyd Magers (second from right). The panel had a "Gunsmoke" emphasis with series guest stars, Gregg Palmer, James Hampton, Elizabeth MacRae and Robert Easton.

The Banquet

Noel Neill is all smiles after reprising her famous role of Lois Lane during the banquet's radio recreation of the "Adventures of Superman" series.  Costarring with her in the adventure were Marylynn Coryelle, Jon Provost (as Robin the Boy Wonder), James Hampton (playing the dual roles of Clark Kent and the Man of Steel, Superman), Don Kay Reynolds (as Batman the Caped Crusader), Ray Nielsen, Philip Loy, Ted Infuhr and Boyd Magers as the announcer.  This production was directed by Gary Yoggy (far left) who has lead many of the MFF radio shows over the years.

One of the most delightful highlights of the banquet was having
the legendary Lou Anne Poovie performing
her wonderful rendition of "That Ol' Black Magic" for the audience.

Well, actually....it was Elizabeth MacRae recreating the famous character
she created on "Gomer Pyle, USMC".

Maggie Peterson was gracious enough to sing a song of appreciation when she received her award at the banquet.
Ray presents Noel Neill her second Memphis Film Festival award.  She received her first when she appeared at the 2004 festival.
Frank "Lumpy" Bank reads his plaque to the audience during his acceptance speech.

"Let George Go It" Radio Recreation

On Friday evening, the MFF guests gathered together for a fun evening of entertainment as they performed a radio show recreation based on the classic show, "Let George Do It". The cast included (from left to right) Robert Easton (in a memorable role as the Professor), Mary Hampton, Jon Provost, James Hampton (as George), Maggie Peterson, Philip Loy, Dorinda Clifton, Ted Infuhr and Boyd Magers as the announcer.

Dinner with the Stars

Angie's Old Towne Cafe, a nearby cafe in Olive Branch, was kind enough to host a special dinner out for the stars.
Karolyn Grimes and her husband, Chris, enjoyed themselves at Angie's.  Karolyn is best- known for playing
"Zuzu" in "It's A Wonderful Life."

Jon Provost, who played "Timmy" on the Lassie television series for seven years, and James Hampton of F-Troop and Burt Reynolds movie fame, enjoyed their visit to Angie's Old Towne Cafe.
Noel Neill (center), the original "Lois Lane" of the "Superman" serials and later on the '50s television series with George Reeves, had dinner with New Yorkers Dom and his daughter Justine. (forgive us for not remembering their last name).  These two were given this opportunity through a winning bid at a festival auction held earlier in the week.
